Witness Trees - Learning the Sacred Art of Silent Presence
Terry L. Mullins
Contemplative Practice Reflection
People Are (Not) Trees
Soothing words . . . God is light
In Him – no darkness at all, none? Wow!
Those who walk in the light of wisdom
Fellowship with Him
With one another – Awwwww!
The blood of Jesus – His Son
Purifies!
Light, look for the light
Yes, in the early morning sunrise
Yes, in the evening sunset
Glorious beauty and wonder
So (Soul) comforting, calming!
Light, always there
Amidst the darkness
Stars, a mass of refection glitter
And the One Star, 2000 years ago,
All creation yearned to see
The Light
Wisdom, grace, love, saving
A canticle of light – Jesus
And seasons of cold winter oppression – barrenness
Bare branches reaching
Trees – similar to us human beings
Flourishing – Barrenness
Witness trees, oh my
There they are
Paying attention
Listening not talking
Silent witnesses
To human history
The ‘Burnside Sycamore’
Witness of Civil War bloodbath
The ‘American Elm’ – Survivor
Witness of a deadly blast
The “Apple Tree”
Witness of first woman – Eve
The “Olive Tree”
Witness of the passion of Christ
Trees – beautiful trees
Standing in solidarity
Listening, attending
Comforting without words
Watchfully they . . .
Gaze
Shade
Behold
Us
Keep our secrets
They are safe
Quietly . . .
Console
Trees – beautiful trees
Watching us
Loving us?
I think
I will go hug my tree
My beautiful
Flaming
Reaching out
“Willow Tree”
Trees
Beautiful witness trees
